Former ambassador to China issues warning about the state of Canada's foreign policy
Canada is in the process of losing its way when it comes to dealing with China. Not only that, Canada's former ambassador to China argues that's also the case with our overall foreign policy.
In his new book 'Middle Power, Middle Kingdom,' David Mulroney highlights several concerns with Canada's strategy on the world stage, from a "steady encroachment of domestic political considerations into our foreign policy calculations" to the "danger of replacing international activism with mere rhetoric."
Mulroney, who also spent significant time in Afghanistan during Canada's mission there, tells guest-host Rosemary Barton that there are lessons we should learn from that conflict and apply them to the current situation with ISIS. But he's concerned that's not happening.
