On The House mid-week podcast, what is Justin Trudeau trying to accomplish at the United Nations this week? Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced on Wednesday that Canada will campaign to get a seat on the United Nations Security Council for a two-year term beginning in 2021. 

Canada last had a seat at the UN Security Council in 2000, Trudeau said "it's time for Canada to step up once again."

We talk to Foreign Affairs Minister Stéphane Dion, who's also at the UN this week, about how Canada plans to reengage with the organization.

We also discuss Wednesday's announcement with Yves Fortier, Canada's Ambassador to the UN from 1988 to 1991.
