Elon Musk: Out to change the way we live on Earth and in space

As a child, he was a loner... unimpressive in school, lost in his own thoughts. Today, he's a multi-Billionaire entrepreneur celebrated as a visionary. From the Tesla electric car to the rocket factory that has revolutionized the space industry, Elon Musk is a man not afraid to chase big ideas.
He's the man behind the Tesla electric car, the SpaceX rocket, and PayPal. But we know comparatively little about Elon Musk. We speak with Ashlee Vance, a biographer who had unprecedented access to the modern day industrialist to find out what makes him tick. (Harper Collins Canada)

"I didn't really think Tesla would be successful, I thought we would most likely fail. But if something's important enough you should try even if the probable outcome is failure. "- Elon Musk

Elon Musk has always been a bit of an enigma. He's responsible for some of the most visionary, and potentially world-changing companies today... operating in realms as diverse as online payments, electric cars,  and rocket ships.

It's an unprecedented trajectory, and one that's just been charted with some unprecedented access -- in a new biography titled, "Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX and the Quest for a Fantastic Future."

And it's written by Bloomberg Businessweek correspondent Ashlee Vance, who joined us from San Francisco.
