Comedian Charlie Demers faces 'The Horrors' to survive life
Comedian Charlie Demers always looks on the bright side of dark situations. It's a philosophy that's served him well in dealing with the tragedies of everyday life. He joins us to talk about his new book, "The Horrors."
"It's impossible for words to describe what is necessary to those who do not know what horror means ... Horror and moral terror are your friends. If they are not, then they are enemies to be feared."- Marlon Brando as Colonel Walter E. Kurtz in "Apocalypse Now"
It's not the sort of film clip that'd you'd typically think of as a comedian's inspiration, but Charlie Demers is not your typical comedian. He's spent a lot of time thinking about life's awful things, and how no matter how horrible, they can be met with a laugh.
