Range anxiety is real and the owners of gas-powered cars aren't accustomed to it. But when you drive an electric car, you start thinking more about where the power comes from and where you're going to get it next.- Globe and Mail's Peter Cheney on

The spectre of "range anxiety" is something that more drivers in Europe may soon have to deal with as more countries there consider imposing timelines for phasing out fuel-burning vehicles.

The Netherlands has become the latest country to pass a motion that would ban the sale of all petrol and diesel cars starting in 2025.

Jan Vos is the author of the motion to ban all non-zero emission cars in 2025. He's also the member of the Dutch parliament with the country's Labour party. Vos is confident this move will help ease pollution and gives the country plenty of time to install the necessary infrastructure.
