'Two of a Kind': The Mysterious World of Identical Twins

About once in every few hundred births, two siblings enter the world almost simultaneously. And something else is born as well... an intense relationship that lasts a lifetime. Today we look into the inner life of twins.
Identical twins are siblings whose lives are entwined like no others. They offer a window into a world trying to understand, not only what makes them so alike but why it is that in matters of health, they might be very different. Filmmaker Leora Eisen takes us on her journey - as an identical twin.

Leora Eisen and her identical twin Linda Lewis grew up as best friends and soul mates. Their teeth fell out at the same time. They made the same mistakes on math tests. And some considered them interchangeable. The girls even chose the same profession: journalism.

Leora has directed a documentary all about the mysterious world of identical twins ... what makes them the same... and what can make them completely different as well. It's called Two of A Kind and it's airing Thursday night on CBC TV's The Nature of Things - the feature film version is running on CBC's documentary channel on November 30th. And that channel is offered free this month by the way.

Leora Eisen joined us in our Toronto studio.
