Pulling the curtain on CSIS, CSEC & the Five Eyes network
Spying is in the news again. Although given that it's spying, we only get a shadowy look at the extent of the controversy. It involves CSIS - the Canadian Intelligence Security Service, CSEC -- The Communications Security Establishment Canada and the so-called Five Eyes ... and a federal court judge's concern that Canada is trying to get those eyes to look and listen into places it might not have the right to.
Paul Champ is a human rights lawyer who deals extensively with national security issues. He joined us from Ottawa to take a peak inside this secret world.
We did request a response from CSIS but have yet to get a response.
