Escape From North Korea

He is the only person known to have been born in a North Korean prison camp and escape to tell the world about it.

Updated January 20, 2015: Shin Dong-hyuk has publicly acknowledged that parts of his story, as relayed in the bestselling 'Escape from Camp 14,' are inaccurate, but says the torture he endured is true.

'We all have something in the past that we never want brought to light,' he wrote on his Facebook page.  'I too, forever wanted to conceal and hide part of my past. We tell ourselves that it's okay to not reveal every little detail, and that it might not matter if certain parts aren't clarified.'
