The 180

A 180 listener drives the speed limit so you will too

On past shows we have heard arguments against lowering residential speed limits, and for raising highway limits. But this week we spoke to a 180 listener who is so frustrated by her speeding neighbours that she signed a pledge to drive slower than those around her.
Suzie Sims has a sticker like this on her car.

Suzie Sims was frustrated by the propensity of people to drive over the speed limit — a habit she admits to having herself. So she signed a pledge to be a "pace driver." Now, when she drives around her hometown of Armstrong, B.C., she goes the speed limit in hopes that she'll cause others to do the same.
