OPINION: Some logic on electoral reform, please

Political scientist Christopher Kam says arguments for electoral reform are full of misconceptions.

Thanks to an election promise from the incoming Liberals, advocates for electoral reform are already celebrating the death of our first-past-the-post system of electing MPs, and imagining what the country will look like without it.  

They imagine a truly democratic future for Canada, where voters are liberated to vote for the party of their choice.

But when political scientist Christopher Kam hears those arguments, he hears a failure of political logic.
