Farewell to 2016; Robert Harris on albums that changed your life; 2nd annual "Shut Up! I'm Thinking" word game
Thank God 2016 is finally over. Let us work to find a better world in 2017 - Michael's essay: Here's an excerpt: "It was a year of lying and shouting. A time when what was factual was distorted until reality and its first cousin, truth, were as rare as snow in August."
Robert Harris - The Music that Changed Your World: Robert Harris joins Michael to talk about the albums that made an impact, the first time they were listened to. We begin with Michael's choice: Jazz at Oberlin - the live album from 1953, by the Dave Brubeck Quartet.
The second annual "Shut Up, I'm Thinking": You may know it as "fictionary", or "The Dictionary Game". The Canadian couple who made it into a commercial game, called it "Balderdash." To us, it's "Shut Up, I'm Thinking." This year, our contestants are CBC Radio hosts Carol Off, Tom Power and Rosanna Deerchild.
