Sleepover Check In 2: Perfect Strangers Return to an Imperfect World

Perfect strangers sequester themselves for 24 hours to help each other. But what happens when they return to an IMPERFECT world? Sook-Yin Lee checks in with guests in Toronto and Peterborough to find out what became of their problems post-Sleepover.

In the live adaptation of Sleepover at the Hot Docs Podcast Festival, pint-sized Iggy Madison, pro-wrestler Cody Deaner, and comedian, actor, and extreme crafter Becky Johnson leapt into a giant bed onstage with Sook-Yin before a packed audience.  Nine-year-old Iggy had fallen in love, but love is confusing. Was he able to get a grip on his romantic obsession?  Meanwhile, pro-wrestler Cody Deaner pounds heads for a living, but his toddler thinks wrestling is real, and has become a bit of a bully. How did Cody try to teach his son the difference between real and pretend fighting? Then there's brilliant comic Becky Johnson, who knows how to make people laugh, but also moved people to tears with her poignant account of being barricaded in a pile of stuff she'd like to be free of. Was Becky able to de-clutter her "chaos room" and move on?

In the next unlikely trio of strangers, teenage theatre student Davinder Mahli became discouraged by university, but couldn't bring himself to tell his folks he might want to change his major. Did he finally let them know? Meanwhile, Christian sex therapist Eryn Faye Frans was reeling in the wake of a cancer diagnosis that turned her love life upside-down. Was Eryn-Faye able to regain her sense of self and find intimacy with her husband again?  Finally, former military medic Walter Callaghan was haunted by his experiences in the Canadian forces, which led to chronic pain and post-traumatic stress disorder. What happened to Walter's wall, and was he able to break it down to find connection?

In a remote boathouse on the shore of Big Bald Lake in the forest of Buckhorn, Peterborough County, three strangers embraced the great outdoors. Realtor, mom, and long distance lake swimmer Trudy Wilson was in a war with her big brother. Have the rival siblings made amends? Down-to-earth electrician and volunteer firefighter Orville Thertell is such a nice guy he was being taken advantage of.  We find out whether he was finally able to put his foot down. And, finally, a Kenyan-Canadian leading a double life: Oseko Ogega works as a construction site security guard by day and rapper by night. Did he buckle under the social pressure to succeed, or has he quit the day job to follow his passion?

All will be revealed when Sleepover checks in with our guests after they've checked out...
