David Ridgen reflects on 7 years of Someone Knows Something
Host & creator of the award-winning investigative podcast answers listener questions
"They all just said I should do it. 'Do it, David. Do it.' So I said okay."
In 2016, documentarian David Ridgen was convinced to turn his cold case investigative work into a podcast series for CBC. Seven years later, Someone Knows Something — the award-winning series he created and hosts — is rolling out its seventh season and reaching millions of global listeners.
Over the years, Ridgen's work has resulted in an indictment, a conviction and multiple arrests. He has pushed forward police investigations and brought clarity and closure to grieving families.
The latest season, titled The Abortion Wars, examines the 1998 murder of a New York doctor who provided abortions and investigates the connection to a possible network of anti-abortion violence across North America.
Ridgen sat down to answer some audience-submitted questions about his career, his unique investigation tactics and what drives him to keep going.
