ABOUT THE HOST

Director David Ridgen is an award-winning filmmaker and writer who specializes in hard-hitting, character-driven stories, with a passion for investigative work and narrative experimentation. His Emmy-nominated company is expanding further into areas of long-form drama and new media production.

SEASON 7

In 1998, OB-GYN Dr. Barnett Slepian was shot and killed in his home — the latest in a series of violent crimes against doctors who preformed abortions in North America. Who was behind these murders? And were they all connected?

In Season 7 of Someone Knows Something: The Abortion Wars, host David Ridgen and investigative journalist Amanda Robb dig into the murder of Dr. Slepian — Robb's uncle — and uncover a network of anti-abortion movements linked to violence in North America and Europe.

Twenty years later, with debates about reproductive rights still raging in the U.S., could more violence be on the horizon?

SEASON 6

Debra has been searching for her son Donald Izzett Jr. for 25 years. The last time she spoke with him was Mother's Day. He had called from a road trip, but sounded upset, saying he needed money. Then the phone went dead. Donnie's friend told police that he dropped him off in New Orleans. But Debra thinks he was murdered. And decides to investigate the case herself.

SEASON 5

On October 16, 1986, 15-year-old Kerrie Brown disappeared from a house party. Her body was discovered less than 40 hours later in a wooded area outside of town. Host David Ridgen travels to Thompson, where together with Kerrie's older brother Trevor, he speaks to witnesses as well as suspects, and uncovers some shocking new evidence that may help the case move forward.

Duration 0:58
On Oct. 16, 1986, 15-year-old Kerrie Brown disappeared from a house party in Thompson, Manitoba. Her body was found two days later. Host David Ridgen joins Kerrie's friends and family on their search for answers.

SEASON 4

When a package arrived in the mail at Wayne Greavette's home, it seemed like an early gift for the holidays. Inside was a wrapped present and a typewritten letter addressed to him, with the postscript: "Have a very Merry Christmas and may you never have to buy another flashlight." When Wayne turned the flashlight on, it exploded, killing him instantly. Over 20 years later, the case remains unsolved, leaving Wayne's widow and children consumed with finding the culprit. Along with SKS host David Ridgen, the Greavette family investigates.

SEASON 3

In 1964, the bodies of two black teenagers — Charles Moore and Henry Dee — were pulled from a backwater of the Mississippi River. Brutally murdered by the Ku Klux Klan, no one was ever convicted. In one of his first ever cold case investigations, Someone Knows Something host David Ridgen joins victim's brother Thomas Moore, as he returns to Mississippi 40 years later to discover the truth, confront the Klansmen involved, and find justice.

Special thanks for Season 3

And editor Michael Hannan who accompanied me to Mississippi and even did some camera work. Jerry Weedon for all his moral and equipment support. And Don Knox, Michael Hughes, Jerry McIntosh and Michael Claydon for supporting the original project later in the process.

SEASON 2

On December 31, 1997, at a New Year's Eve party broadcast on live TV, Sheppard accepted a marriage proposal from her boyfriend, Michael Lavoie.

Two days later, she disappeared.

In Season 2 of SKS, David Ridgen joins Sheppard's mother Odette on her search for answers.

SEASON 1

In 1972, five-year-old Adrien McNaughton vanished while on a family fishing trip in Eastern Ontario. Despite an intensive search and investigation, no sign of Adrien was found, no clue as to where he might be. The case has hung over the area like a dark mass ever since, especially in the small town of Arnprior, where the McNaughton family lived.

In season one of the podcast Someone Knows Something, host David Ridgen, who grew up in Arnprior, goes back to investigate. Ridgen, a independent filmmaker with a proven record of solving cold cases, asks the questions that have been waiting for answers for over 40 years. He speaks to family, friends and other members of the community, discovering new leads and evidence, trying to put the ghosts of the past to rest.
