Curiosity on Mars
A look at the first two years of operation of NASA's newest Mars rover.
The Curiosity rover has been on Mars for more than two Earth years (and more than one Mars year), exploring, photographing, drilling and blasting holes in the Martian surface. Rod Pyle, a science writer and documentarian, has, in turn, explored the rover in his new book, Curiosity - An Inside Look at the Mars Rover Mission and the People Who Made it Happen. Mr Pyle looks at how the rover grew from previous explorations of Mars to become the most ambitious project yet. He also surveys the discoveries the rover has already made about the once-wet and possibly once-living Martian surface, and looks ahead at what is to come for Curiosity and for the missions that will follow it in the future.
