Every week, the q This panel looks at the biggest stories in music news. Today, CBC arts reporter Lisa Christiansen and music journalist Stuart Berman join host Tom Power to share their reactions to the 2020 Grammy Award nominations, which were just revealed this morning.

Lizzo is leading the pack with eight Grammy nominations, including best new artist and song of the year for her track Truth Hurts. Our panel fills us in on who else is raking in the nominations, including some of the dark horses across the major categories.

The panellists also discuss which Canadian artists earned Grammy nods, including Daniel Caesar, Jessie Reyez and Drake. Shawn Mendes also picked up a nomination along with Camila Cabello for best pop duo or group performance, and Northern Cree picked up their ninth overall Grammy nomination — their album When It's Cold — Cree Round Dance Songs is up for best regional roots music album. Additionally, Canadian soprano Barbara Hannigan is among the contributors to Benjamin: Lessons in Love & Violence, which is up for best opera recording.
