The fight for equal pay in Hollywood continues with Hawaii Five-0's latest controversy

Many fans were unhappy this week when news hit that actors Grace Park and Daniel Dae Kim would not be returning for the eighth season of CBS's Hawaii Five-0.

Variety reported that the actors were negotiating for equal pay compared to their co-stars, and this morning, Kim posted a message on his Facebook page saying: "Though I made myself available to come back, CBS and I weren't able to agree to terms on a new contract, so I made the difficult choice not to continue."

He also said, "Though transitions can be difficult, I encourage us all to look beyond the disappointment of this moment to the bigger picture. The path to equality is rarely easy." 

Because both actors are Asian, their departure from the show has sparked a conversation about pay parity for Asian actors. It's something actor and screenwriter Amanda Joy is quite passionate about.
