Diana Weymar's new public art project protests Trump by stitching his quotes into delicate embroidery

At the beginning of 2018, textile artist and activist Diana Weymar hastily stitched a quote from U.S. President Donald Trump into a piece of her grandmother's abandoned needlework from the 1960s. She posted a picture of the embroidery to Instagram, where it quickly went viral.

In the 18 months since, hundreds of contributors from around the world have joined her in a public art project called the Tiny Pricks Project. A work-in-progress exhibition is on display now at Lingua Franca in New York.
