Canadian-American actor Amy Jo Johnson's film The Space Between is a personal triumph not only because it marks her directorial debut, but also because it wouldn't have been possible without a lot of loyal Power Rangers fans and a certain pink suit.
Johnson, best known as Kimberley Hart, the original, pink, Mighty Morphin' Power Ranger of the '90s, turned to fans to help fund her new film, which she wrote and directed — a longtime ambition of hers.
The Space Between focuses on Mitch, played by Michael Cram, a good-natured guy who has just found out his newborn baby isn't actually his. It hits theatres on Aug. 25.
The Space Between marks a big new step for Johnson, who talks to q host Tom Power.
