Sarah Slean became fascinated with philosophy when she was a teenager. Music has not only allowed her to track her evolution as an artist, but also her philosophical development.

"As a recording artist, you're in a unique position," she says. "You have a tangible record of the evolution of your own thinking so I have time capsules of my mind from various stages of my life."

Slean's latest capsule is Metaphysics, an album where Slean scored all the string orchestra arrangements. Today, she joins Tom Power in the studio to perform songs from her new record and to discuss how she has grown over of the years.
