Tanya Taylor is a Canadian, New York-based fashion designer whose brand is all about being inclusive. Starting in 2017, she added extended sizes to her brand's offerings — a practice that almost none of her peers have taken up.

For her Spring/Summer 2019 collection, which you can see photos of below, Taylor decided to forgo a traditional runway show at New York Fashion Week in favour of hosting an event with 30 women from a range of professions to celebrate their work in various industries. It was her effort to connect with and celebrate women who are not usually represented at fashion week.

Tanya Taylor sat down with q host Tom Power to talk about why this was important for her to do.
