Niall Horan on life after One Direction and the 'risk' of making new music
When One Direction dropped their first big hit, What Makes You Beautiful, eight years ago, it completely changed the lives of all five young band members. While most other 18-year-olds were backpacking, studying, or getting their first jobs, Niall Horan and his bandmates were selling out arenas and becoming paparazzi magnets.
One Direction went on to sell more than 50 million albums before ultimately deciding to go their separate ways. It's been two years since Horan dropped his debut solo album, Flicker, and now, he has a second record on the horizon.
Horan sat down with q's Tom Power to talk about his new music, growing up, and life on the other side of One Direction.
Horan's new single is called Nice To Meet Ya. It's the first glimpse of his upcoming album, which doesn't have a release date yet. You can catch him on tour when he stops in Toronto at the Scotiabank Arena on May 6, 2020.
