As a comedian, the late Robin Williams was known to make audiences laugh while also laying his soul bare. He often wouldn't make clear what was real and what was an act, which is probably why he's remained a a mystery to many fans.

The question of how much fans really knew Williams became a lot more complicated four years ago when the news broke that he had taken his own life. Now, there's a new book out that tries to shed some light on his life and death.

The book is called Robin and it comes from Dave Itzkoff, a culture reporter with The New York Times. Today, Itzkoff joins Tom Power live from San Francisco to talk about Williams.
