The Cranberries on their final album and life after Dolores O'Riordan

For many people, Dolores O'Riordan's voice came to define the '90s. As the lead singer of the Cranberries, she reached listeners across the world with songs like Dreams, Linger and Zombie. When she suddenly passed away in 2018 at age 46, the huge gap she left behind was immediately felt, especially by those closest to her.

In the months after her death, O'Riordan's bandmates Fergal Lawler and brothers Noel and Mike Hogan got to work on the band's final album, In the End. Made with incomplete demo tapes, they dug up voice memos O'Riordan sent via email as well as bits and pieces of music that had not yet seen the light of day.

Fergal and Noel joined host Tom Power in the q studio to talk about the Cranberries' final record and the friend who was missing during its production. 

"It encouraged us to do our best, as if you'd be letting her down if we didn't give it everything," said Lawler. "You realize that this isn't gonna do anyone any favours, moping around the place like this, we're not gonna give our 100 per cent — what we need to do here is to finish the work that Dolores started."   

In the End will be released on Friday, April 26.
