'What else is out there?': Isabella Rossellini on the link between curiosity and joyfulness
Early in her acting career, a lot of people assumed Isabella Rossellini only took on dark, serious roles. Today, no one would say that Rossellini is too serious.
Anyone who's seen her series Green Porno knows that Rossellini has a playful side and a thing for observing nature. Green Porno is a series of short, educational films about how different animals have sex, but it's also based on her own research into animal behaviour, which is a passion of hers.
Rossellini's latest project is a stage show called Link Link Circus, and it's all about the way animals think and communicate. "Animals make me laugh," says Rossellini. "There is something absurd about being similar and different. This is what I wanted to capture."
In this wide-ranging interview with q's Tom Power, the famed Italian actor talks about her love of farming and why she's gone back to school to learn about animal behaviour.
