Sabrina Jalees is a stand-up comedian — you might remember her from Video On Trial on MuchMusic or Laugh Out Loud on CBC Radio. One of the big things that drew her to comedy in the first place was the chance to talk her issues out by turning them into jokes that she could share in front of an audience.

Jalees spoke to Tom Power about coming to terms with her identity, and owning every part of who she is, even when it's tough to talk about it onstage.

Her upcoming Netflix series, The Quarter Hour Comedy Special, is out later this year.
