Eugenio Derbez is one of the stars and executive producers of Dora and the Lost City of Gold, the live-action remake of Dora the Explorer. While Spanish-speaking audiences have been watching Derbez for years, a whole new audience is now about to discover his talent.

He joined q guest host Talia Schlanger to tell us more about the film and the pressure of adapting a beloved cartoon for the big screen.

"I've always tried to change the way that Hollywood portrays Latinos," said Derbez. "They were always offering the same kind of roles. You know, the narco, the drug lord, the criminal. ... So when I knew that Dora was coming out, I talked to my agents and they talked to Paramount so we can make this production that portrays a positive Latina. I think Dora is a great example for kids all around the world. She's positive, she's brave, she's smart, she's a good girl. So I wanted to be part of this immediately."

Dora and the Lost City of Gold opens in theatres on Friday, Aug. 9.
