What does Canada mean to Mike Myers?
Mike Myers is well aware that Canadians already know who they are as a nation of people but his newest book tackles a slightly different question: why we are.
The Scarborough, Ont. native lays out his idea of the Great White North in Canada (out now), a book that is part autobiographical and part "familiar essay."
"It's a sentimental journey of the only thing I know about," Myers says, clarifying that Canada is specifically written from his point of view. "It's a very fantastic place to grow up and a fantastic place to live."
So what does Canada look like and mean to Myers?
"Peace is something we're all about," he says with pride. "You look at the strength of of the democracy and it's not how well we agree but it's how well we disagree [...] Civility may be our greatest legacy."
