Why Amr Al Azm is hell bent on tracking down stolen treasures and combating the illegal art trade instigated by ISIS.

Shawnee State University professor Amr Al Azm has been called a modern-day Indiana Jones for his work combating the illegal art trade instigated by ISIS. As the Sunni jihadist organization loots and plunders Syria's historic sites, the academic is fighting to undo the damage.

Al Azm joins guest host Candy Palmater to share how he tracks down stolen treasures and why preserving cultural heritage is a key part of restoring peace.

1) Ma'arra museum, in northern Syria's Idlib province, being sand-bagged for protection.

2) Ma'arra's Museum post-barrel bombing. The mosaics inside these damaged rooms are safe thanks to protective sand bagging, but the artwork outside has been destroyed.
