Emily Haines and Jimmy Shaw of Metric bring two beautiful, stripped down tunes from Pagans in Vegas (plus an old favourite) to studio q. The synth-phonic new album is a kind of love letter to 80s new wave — but today's acoustic performance cuts from a different angle.
The bandmates also sit down with Shad to discuss how their "fake year off" yielded a new sound, why they want the band to absorb the musical evolution of each member, and how they keep the ideas inside the music, so they're not just "words on top".
