Some people see the hack and subsequent fallout as cheaters getting their just desserts. But sex advice columnist Dan Savage says the issue is much more complex than that.
Countless couples dealing with infidelity have written to Savage over the years for his column Savage Love, and he says that many situations "don't line up with the black-and-white narrative around adultery" we often subscribe to.
Instead, he calls for something that's been missing so far from most of the conversation around the hack: empathy.
