Recklessness is all relative, says Chrissie Hynde

Chrissie Hynde, lead singer of The Pretenders, has one of the most distinctive voices in rock — but her personal story and strong opinions would also stand out in any crowd. 

Hynde joins Shad to discuss her revealing new memoir, Reckless: My Life as a Pretender, and why she thinks she grew up at "the greatest time in rock history." 

In a wide-ranging, two-part conversation, she also explains why she dislikes one of her greatest hits, why bands are better than solo acts, and why her Bhagavad Gita-inspired outlook is "perfect for someone who's lazy".
