Nothing about Kirk Weddle's album shoot for Nirvana seemed glamorous. He wasn't paid much. He didn't know the band. He wasn't sure about the concept.

The Austin photographer joins Candy Palmater to discuss how a strange assignment — shooting a baby underwater — resulted in his iconic photograph for the cover of Nirvana's Nevermind album.

This week marks the 25th anniversary of the game-changing album's release.

WEB EXTRA | Then-unknown Nirvana also posed underwater for Weddle as part of the iconic album shoot. But, unhappy with the results, the record label scrapped the shoot and Weddle filed the pictures as a failure and forgot about them.
