Kids don't belong on reality TV, says former child star
A Minor Consideration founder makes the case for all-out ban against putting kids on reality shows — even those that haven't faced controversy.
Children on reality TV shows need a fierce advocate, says former child star Paul Petersen — and he's ready to wage war.
Unlike their parents, minors who star in the revealing shows don't have a mature concept of what they're getting into, says Petersen. And he isn't only targeting shows that have faced controversy, like 19 Kids and Counting and Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, but reality TV shows in general.
Petersen, who founded the child advocacy group A Minor Consideration, joins q guest host Candy Palmater to make the case for an all-out ban.
