Fresh off her prestigious Caldecott Medal, acclaimed illustrator Jillian Tamaki (This One Summer, Skim) joins Shad to discuss her latest graphic novel, why it contains more Degrassi-style drama than Marvel-like mystique, and how she channels the voices of young people despite being old enough to "fit two teenagers" into her age.
