More than 20 U.S. states now have some form of legalized or decriminalized marijuana. And here in Canada, the new Liberal government has pledged to legalize it.

But as Canadian policymakers test the societal soil, Vice reporter Krishna Andavolu is busy testing the product. His new show Weediquette is set to examine all aspects of marijuana legalization — from the business and politics to the real experience of the magical green plant.

Andavolu joins Shad to discuss the series, the "new pot paradigm" as he sees it, and why he's qualified to blaze this trail. (You know, other than smoking weed with the president of Uruguay.)

WEB EXTRA | Andavolu is a hands-on reporter. Watch him take one-tenth of a dose of very potent THC oil. Weediquette premieres March 1st on Viceland.

The stoner archetype has dramatically changed over the past few decades. Andavolu walked Shad from hell-raising pot zombies to hip urban women who buy their own pot. Want to see the change for yourself? Here are the three examples we clipped on the show.

A cautionary tale of drug-crazed abandoned and ruined homes. Watch Reefer Madness (1936) below.

The barely-functional couch stoner. Watch a tribute to Brad Pitt as burnt-out roommate Floyd, from the 1993 film True Romance.
