Hidely-ho! Meet Okilly Dokilly, the world's only 'Nedal' band

When Okilly Dokilly first formed, they were hoping to just have a laugh with the six or so people watching them perform in a small Phoenix bar. But thousands of streams and views later, it appears the whole world is on in the joke. 

The Phoenix metal band is the complete opposite of the popular Simpsons character it takes influence from, Ned Flanders. They've even classified themselves as the world's only "Nedal" band.

"It was just the juxtaposition of the character," leader Head Ned explains, of why they chose the Simpsons' peppy neighbour as their inspiration. "He's the friendliest guy in Springfield and, to me, he's the friendliest guy on TV. We thought it would be hilarious, we thought it would be awesome."

And it's not just the name. Everything from their band uniform (that classic green sweater and pink button-up underneath) to their song lyrics reference Flanders.  

"We even dress like him in the studio just to keep the essence going," Head Ned says. But when asked about the cartoon character's reaction to their aggressive-sounding music, he responds: "I think Ned would not be too pleased to listen to, see, or hear about Okilly Dokilly — though, maybe a bit flattered."
