49 people dead. Another 53 injured. The shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando early Sunday morning has been declared the worst mass shooting in U.S. history.

LGBT groups across North America are taking stock following the events in Florida. Among them, Cindy Wiesner — national coordinator of the North Miami-based group, Grassroots Global Justice.

In the aftermath of the shooting, Wiesner joins guest host Gill Deacon to share how the news is reverberating through the local community, and why she warns against Islamophobic backlash as details emerge about the shooter.
