Wab Kinew: There's no acceptable level of violence against women
After the 25th anniversary of the Montreal Massacre, Wab Kinew says more must change.
Guest host Wab Kinew opens today's show with a nod to the 25th anniversary of the Montreal Massacre. This year, the Dec. 6 day of remembrance and action on violence against women falls against a grim backdrop.
"This [is] the year of Tina Fontaine and 1200 missing and murdered Indigenous women, sexual misconduct on Parliament Hill, Bill Cosby and, yeah, the former host of this program."
"To put it simply, 2014, has been a wakeup call. A startling reminder that we haven't done enough to end violence against women and girls."
