Alan Cumming is known for his roles in The Good Wife, Eyes Wide Shut and his star turn on Broadway as the Emcee in Cabaret -- but far fewer know that the vivacious entertainer suffered physical abuse at the hands of his father while growing up in rural Scotland. 

The Tony-winning actor opens about about his those dark days in his wrenching new memoir Not My Father's Son. In it, he explains how his childhood traumas have shaped his life and art, and why he feels it important to share those experiences as an adult.
