Today's Friday Live guest is singer/songwriter and "guitar sorcerer" Matt Andersen. The New Brunswick musician performs from his open and exploratory album, Weightless, and also sits down for a proper chat about exploring different styles of music while maintaining a solid love affair with the blues.

After starting in the local band Flat Top in his native Perth-Andover, N.B., Andersen struck out on his own in 2007. He toured relentlessly, earning a reputation for spirited live performances, direct lyrics, and blues-infused guitar chops.

Andersen was the first Canadian to win at the Memphis International Blues Challenge, and has also been honoured with Maple Blues Awards and the European Blues Award.
