This week, the internet got a hilarious history lesson. Vulture assembled a team to sift through stand-up, sitcoms, movies and monologues, and come up with a list of the 100 most influential jokes of all time.
Each joke is memorable on its own, but when put together, you can see how modern comedy was shaped — starting with icons like Charlie Chaplin and Lucille Ball, all the way to Chris Rock and Amy Schumer.
