This week, the internet got a hilarious history lesson. Vulture assembled a team to sift through stand-up, sitcoms, movies and monologues, and come up with a list of the 100 most influential jokes of all time.

Each joke is memorable on its own, but when put together, you can see how modern comedy was shaped — starting with icons like Charlie Chaplin and Lucille Ball, all the way to Chris Rock and Amy Schumer.

Vulture senior editor Jesse David Fox joins Shad to talk about the piece, and what it taught him about comedy today.
