• Guest host Gill Deacon talks to Lionel Shriver. She is known for her provocative fiction that explores the darkest corners of the zeitgeist. Her previous novel, We Need To Talk About Kevin, about an ambivalent mother whose son commits mass murder, delved into her own fears about motherhood. Her latest, Big Brother, takes on an even more personal subject, re-imagining in fiction her own brother's struggle with, and eventual death from, obesity-related illness.
   
• Guest host Kevin Sylvester talks to David Finkel, author of Thank You for Your Service, about the traumatic aftereffects of war on soldiers.
