Passenger whispers in a world that only shouts

Mike Rosenberg a.k.a Passenger performs from his latest album live in Studio Q.
Mike Rosenberg, better known by his stage name Passenger, joins guest host Stephen Quinn to talk about and perform from  Whispers, his sixth studio record. The album follows the success of his massive hit single Let Her Go, but the soft-spoken troubadour isn't letting that psyche him out.

The performer and longtime busker says he's most interested in making music he's passionate about, and success is a bitter-sweet bonus.
"I've had a hit single. I never thought in my wildest dreams I'd have one of them. What a wonderful thing to tell my grandkids," he says. "If it ever happens again, then -- brilliant."

Storytelling in the age of social media

Passenger also reflects on how the essence of folk music, an intimate form of art, has changed in the age of Twitter and a sea of tiny little screens at live concerts.

His song, Scare Away The Dark, reflects on some of those themes.

(Then -- why not go outside? Perhaps "stare at the stars and not just the screens")
