KC Adams stares down stereotypes against aboriginal people

Visual artist KC Adams will soon be plastering racial slurs all over Winnipeg — but she won't let them go unchallenged. Her portrait series Perception examines the barefaced stereotypes routinely directed at Canada's Aboriginal Peoples. Each of her subjects is cast in two lights: one a sombre portrait featuring a stereotype, and the other their radiant reality.
The Winnipeg-based artist joins guest host Jelena Adzic to talk about the citywide roll-out of her head-turning images, and Macleans Magazine's controversial decision to dub the Manitoba capital "Canada's most racist city".
