Toronto trio BadBadNotGood have forged a unique sound that's as much inspired by Miles Davis as it is contemporary hip hop, a blend that has led the group to collaborate with some of the best rappers working today. In a segment from the Best of Q, the jazz-influenced, genre-defying band drops into Studio Q to perform live from their newest album, Three.

They also speak with guest host Stephen Quinn about being creative at the intersection of various genres, why they value the "nervous energy" of a tangible product, and why they're not overly concerned with the traditional tenants of jazz.

"We don't really worry about the genre, or the title of what is coming about. We just worry 'does it feel good, does it sound good, does it have a good vibe, are we enjoying the moment?'" said one member, adding that he doesn't care what iTunes labels their work.
