In a conversation from the Best of Q, R.L. Stein — the "Stephen King of children's literature" — joins guest host Piya Chattopadhyay to discuss his 20-year hiatus from scaring children silly. He also shares how grown-up 90s kids on Twitter helped revive his classic teen horror franchise, Fear Street

The best-selling author notes that the scariest things are timeless, explains the link between humour and horror, and argues that shielding young readers from horror is anti-kid.

"I think there are a lot of people in the world who don't want kids to have fun," he laughs.
