Sonic Youth's Kim Gordon ain't just a 'girl in a band'

To her fans, Kim Gordon is the consummate cool girl — notoriously aloof but audaciously creative. Gordon was a founding member of and creative force within Sonic Youth, known for shredding it in the epitome of experimental bands.

But as the lone female member of Sonic Youth, she often contended with the same question: "what's it like being the girl in the band?" 

Now the rock icon is answering that question on her own terms with a memoir cleverly titled Girl In A Band. Today she joins guest host Jelena Adzic to discuss her enigmatic identity, her storied career and her partnership with Thurston Moore.
