Room and The Wonder author Emma Donoghue is back with a new novel called Akin. It's about a retired professor named Noah Selvaggio who fears that his mother may have been a Nazi collaborator during World War II. As the story unfolds, it explores the risks and compromises people make for the ones they love, even when it threatens their reputations and sometimes their lives.

Donoghue joined q's Tom Power from London, Ont. to tell us more. Her latest novel Akin hits bookshelves on Tuesdaym, Sept. 3.
