Oliver Jeffers is the artist behind the popular kids books The Day the Crayons Quit, How to Catch a Star and last year's A Child of Books. Jeffers' latest work is a little different and a lot more personal. After becoming a parent two years ago, he felt compelled to create a book that explained our world to his son. And then, after the current political climate took hold, he felt the need was even more pressing.

Jeffers' book Here we Are: Notes For Living on Planet Earth is out now. Today, guest host Ali Hassan will speak to Jeffers about his book and the messages he hopes to pass on to his son.
